2 Year Colleges

2-year colleges are schools that shorter degree programs that can be completed in 2 years or less. These include Associates degrees (full two year programs) and certificate/diploma programs (12-18 month programs). In Georgia, all of the traditional 2 year schools are part of the Technical College System of Georgia. In addition to this, some of Georgia's public 4 year schools (schools in the University Systems of Georgia) also offer 2 year associate degrees.

TCSG schools have very affordable tuition. The HOPE Career Grant also allows students in select programs to attend tuition free! TCSG schools are a great option for students who are worried about the time/cost commitment of a 4 year degree and prefer to enter the workforce ASAP. The University Systems of Georgia runs the public, 4 year colleges in Georgia. Most of the degrees offered by these institutions are 4 year bachelor's degrees but some of them also offer associates programs. These schools are a great option for students who are interested in potentially transferring to a 4 year program. Students who transfer from TCSG to USG schools often have credits that will not transfer which causes them to have to repeat classes. However, USG schools accept transfer credits for all core classes from other USG schools. Georgia State Perimeter campus is the most popular among students from Midtown.
